Mission

“18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”- Matthew 29:18-20

Over the last few weeks, we have had news that General Conference 2020 has been postponed until 2024. This has created a lot of tension and anxiety among our churches and our extension ministry partners. When the winds of change blow, it always causes levels of uncertainty to materialize in our hearts and minds. It can take away the peace that we so long for.

Jesus told his disciple not to let the unseen prevent them from their mission. This mission has remained the church’s focus for the last 2000 years as we continue to offer the transformational grace of Jesus to the world. Your church and organizations have been lifting the light of Christ amid the darkness for generations. We rejoice and remember the dedicated saints in our lives that shared this good news with us and encouraged us to share it with others.

Our mission as your Foundation will remain the same. We are dedicated to providing your church and organization continued access to our long- and short-term funds, endowment opportunities, donor-advised funds, scholarships, and stewardship development. Our board and Foundation staff desire to see that maximum income streams are available to our Methodist organizations as we share our Wesleyan story. There is a lot of work left for us to complete together.

If you would like me to speak to your church or organization; please, get in touch with me at the Foundation or email me at john@methodistfm.org.
