New Territory

I have never planted cabbage before, so I am not sure what to expect. The plants grew like crazy at first, but they now seem to be just sitting around.  I guess as long as they are green, all will be okay.  I have planted broccoli before and gotten zero harvest. This is my second try in a number of years. The plants have grown, but that is it.

I wish my garden was the only new territory I am experiencing, but we all know that we have entered into a different world in so many ways.  Covid-19 has brought out so much stuff in our churches, country, and world.  We can definitely join Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz in saying, “Toto, I’ve a feeling we‘re not in Kansas anymore.”

You will remember that Dorothy made it home again, but she was changed by the experience of being in Oz. We may go home one day free from the threat of Covid-19, but the experience will forever change the way we see the world and our churches.

How will these days shape the funding of ministry and the development of disciples? Will we slowly neglect our electronic participants, or will we find new ways of engaging them? What other questions need to be answered?
