What’s Next?

My cucumber vine produced fresh fruit for about two weeks then suddenly started wilting with the fruit dying on the vine.  My first tomato plants are toast, but I did put in a couple of new ones. Nothing has been produced yet.  I actually picked enough fresh okra for okra and tomatoes.  But now what?

According to Felder Rushing the time to plant summer stuff in the garden is passed. So whatever garden work to be done needs to focus on fall plantings. So, I sit in the now and plan for the not yet.

Churches have been given the green light to gather for in-person worship once again with very stringent guidelines.  Schools are opening with caution.  Fall sports are being delayed or even moved to spring.  It is definitely not full speed ahead. What is the next step?

Engaging our people in worship, prayer, witness, service, and giving in the now and not yet is more important than ever.  I believe Kent Millard’s The Gratitude Path, can help. The book invites us to give thanks for the good in the now and express gratitude and faith in God’s future.  Millard’s book will benefit you as a way to navigate funding for 2021.
