Stability of the Christian Year

by | Aug 26, 2020 | All Saints Sunday

We may be unsure about what worship and other activities will look like in the days ahead, but we do have the certainty of the Christian Year. Holy Days are still on the calendar and call for our attention. The rhythm of the Christian Year keeps us grounded and in touch with that which truly matters. All Saints is the next important day in the life of the church.

All Saints is just a little over two months away. The Foundation wishes to assist you in plans for the day. We have developed a theme centered around Hebrews 11:8.  All Saints celebrates the inheritance we have received from those who have gone before us in the faith.

The Foundation has a set of materials for social media and worship, a newsletter article, and a bulletin announcement for the day.  It is a great day to lift up the communion of saints and to invite persons to consider a bequest to the church.

Coffee and Conversations via Zoom

We had our first gathering on August 18 to discuss budgeting for 2021 in a Covid-19 world and learned together. The discussion covered budget targets for 2021, electronic giving ideas, technology needs, and the theology of worship.

You are welcome to join us, Mike and Mary Lee, for our next gathering Tuesday, September 1, at 10:00 a.m.  The focus is asking for financial commitments in this strange, new world. – How do we ask people to commit to giving with so much uncertainty? How do we operate with full integrity in asking?

If you wish to join us, email mike@ms-umf.org in order to receive the Zoom link.
