Transform the world

“For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:19

2022 proved to me how distracted we have become as Methodists. I have heard more discussions about disaffiliation, trust clause, and unfunded liability than how we are influencing others to follow the way of Jesus. As this New Year begins, it is time to turn our hearts and minds to growing the Kingdom of God.

It should excite us about the “New” that Jesus will allow us to be a part of this year. New relationships, new opportunities, and even new challenges await us. We have the opportunity to influence so many people with our generosity, kindness, gentleness, and love!

As a follower of Jesus, we have been called to transform the world around us and to leave a legacy of love and grace that will be remembered for generations. However, we must be intentional with our discipleship-making, or this year will end without us fulfilling our call. Isaiah reminds us that our God can do anything, He can create rivers in the wasteland. This is the moment that we have been given to create our legacy. Let us use this year to make an impact on the Kingdom!

Journeying Together,

John
