| As you all know, the Methodist Foundation of Mississippi is very fortunate to be able to award scholarships to college, graduate, and seminary students from Wesleyan heritage churches and organizations across the state of Mississippi. We work diligently with our partners to ensure eligible applicants receive some assistance with their education costs. As we enter this year’s scholarship application and decision process, I want to clarify a few things regarding the Foundation’s scholarship awards and eligibility. We welcome students of all Methodist and Wesleyan heritage churches and Wesley Foundations to apply for our scholarship program. Scholarship Endowments administered by the Foundation have different criteria. Some scholarships are field-of-study specific, some are church specific, some are region-specific, some are GPA-specific, and some have no requirements. Scholarships will be awarded to students who meet the intended criteria of the creator. The staff at the Methodist Foundation will continue to distribute these scholarships while honoring the intentions of their creators. We are overjoyed to continue administering these scholarships to students associated with churches and organizations of Wesleyan heritage. Our guidelines for scholarship awards have stayed the same. A student may receive four(4) scholarship awards for undergraduate and graduate studies. An approved ministerial candidate may receive four(4) scholarships for a Master of Divinity degree. The Foundation has delayed opening the scholarship portal for the 2024-2025 academic year due to a software upgrade. Our software upgrade promises to make the application process easier for our students. We are so excited to share it with our applicants. Because of our delayed opening, our final application acceptance date will be April 15, 2024. Please monitor our social media platforms and email communications to be the first to hear when we go live with our new scholarship portal. It won’t be long!
