Pastors and Church Finances

by | Oct 23, 2019 | Direction, Generosity, Giving

Pastors, you have a responsibility for the financial health of the congregation. As the chief executive officer of the church, you have a duty to ensure that the financial life of the church is managed wisely. You are not to do this alone, but you are to know what is happening with funds of the church.

Pastors, you cannot say to a congregation that you want nothing to do with the money of the church. Yes, you do not want to handle the offering and sign the checks. But you do need to know that the church is solvent, the bills are being paid and that the proper financial controls of the church are being followed.

If you are uncomfortable with reading financial statements and other materials, we can help you. The Foundation is happy to give you tips on reading financial statements or point you to a great book for this.

Pastors, you are important to the life of the church.  You are appreciated by the Foundation.
