Elevator Pitch

by | Feb 20, 2019 | Planning

You may or may not be familiar with the term, “Elevator Pitch.” The term refers to being able to tell your story for support in the length of an elevator ride.  Yes, I know that some elevators are faster than others.  The essence of the idea is that an invitation for support of the church or a ministry or mission within the church needs to be compelling and concise.  One short paragraph is all that it takes.

Saying, “You need to support the church budget,” does not cut it.  Why should a person give to the church? What lives are going to be impacted with these funds? What work of the Kingdom of God will be accomplished? How will their contributions tell the story of Jesus and his love?

This will be a great task for your monthly meeting of the Finance Committee. The nuts and bolts of money is important, but the why is so much more important.
