Saving and Giving

by | Jan 16, 2019 | Giving, Planning

No one will ever save money or experience the joy of generosity without developing a plan.  The best plans are the simplest plans.  All My Money, a personal finance program, suggests that one can start small with a savings goal. Start with one penny the first day and then double the amount each day. By the end of the year you will have saved over $650!

I believe that the same approach will work for giving to the church. Many plan to give, but they do not have any money left by the end of the paycheck.  Giving requires planning. If you have a history of giving little or nothing to the church, why not start with setting aside a dollar every day? After two months, why not try two dollars a day?  You get the idea.

Do not let your mind say, “That’s such a small amount. It will never make a difference, when it comes to saving or giving.” The important matter is to begin to develop the habit of giving and saving.  You can make this happen.
