Three weeks ago, Good Sense published an article by Andrew Wheeler reflecting on the “why” of a stewardship/generosity ministry. The first “why” mentioned is that a generosity ministry honors God as the creator and giver of every good and perfect gift. Honoring God and the Kingdom of God is more important than money and possessions.
Wheeler also mentions that generosity ministry guards our hearts. Stewardship/generosity calls us to put our treasure in heaven. Matthew 6:21 states, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
The article states that stewardship/generosity paves the way for discovering God’s will. Wheeler writes, “We focus our thoughts on God rather than on the things of this life. We are not conformed to the pattern of this world.”
Yes, a stewardship/generosity ministry is vitally important to growing disciples of Jesus Christ. It is not too late to make good plans for this fall.
