“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”~Hebrews 13:8 NLT

This time of year, I always get frustrated at the weather. One day is 80 degrees, and the next day it’s 40 degrees. One day it’s raining so much you can’t go outside, only to be followed by a day that is so windy you can’t stand to out in it. I guess I just love consistency.

The writer of Hebrews alludes to us that most things in life will ultimately change, and we have limited abilities to do anything about it. We have to simply learn how to adapt and overcome. Life truly throws ever-changing obstacles at us.

Yet, the writer concludes that you and I can always count on Jesus to be consistent. They tell us that he is the same yesterday and today and forever. This is meant to give us a lasting peace that passes all understanding.

No matter what challenges and changes we face this week, we serve a God that is consistent. His love is the same. His mercy is the same. His compassion is the same. How amazing it is to be a follower of the way!
