“Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”- I Corinthians 13:13 NLT
Love is the most powerful force in the universe. It has the ability to heal wounds, restore relationships, and transform lives. God Himself is love (1 John 4:8), and through Him, we see the true nature of love—sacrificial, unconditional, and eternal.
The world often portrays love as an emotion, something that comes and goes based on feelings. But God’s love is different. It is steadfast, never failing, and always seeking the best for others. Jesus demonstrated this love when He gave His life for us on the cross (John 15:13). His love was not based on our worthiness but on His nature.
Love has the power to change hearts. When we choose to love others—even when they don’t deserve it—we reflect Christ. Love is patient and kind, slow to anger and quick to forgive (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). It is not self-seeking but looks to serve and uplift others.
Love also brings healing. Many are broken, carrying past hurts and burdens. A kind word, a gentle embrace, or an act of selfless service can be a channel of God’s love, bringing comfort and restoration. When we love as Christ loves, we create an atmosphere where people feel valued and accepted.
Moreover, love defeats fear. The Bible says, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear“ (1 John 4:18). Fear often holds us back—from relationships, from stepping out in faith, and from fully trusting God. But His love assures us that we are never alone, never abandoned, and always cherished.
As followers of Christ, we are called to live a life of love. Jesus said, “By this, everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35). Our love for others is a testimony of God’s presence in our lives.
Today, let us choose love. Let us forgive freely, serve humbly, and give generously. Let us be vessels of God’s love in a world desperate for hope. Love is not just something we feel—it is something we do. And when we love as God loves, we unlock a power that changes the world.
Journeying Together,
John
