“What can I offer the Lord for all he has done for me?” Psalm 116:12
The Psalmist shares a personal declaration of gratitude to our Heavenly Father for all the good in their life. I have felt this way so many times in my life as I reflect on all the blessings God has given me throughout my life. I have pondered “What can I offer the Lord for all he has done for me?”
If we answer this question with a truthful spirit, we must first recognize that all we have comes from God, to begin with. This is where gratitude should start for all of us. This should be the moment we can profess that our God has entrusted us with all we have and asked us to be faithful with it. We are stewards for a small amount of time with these precious gifts and are encouraged to make the most of our moments and relationships to make an eternal difference.
This knowledge lets us proclaim that if everything we have is a gift from God, then everything belongs to him. Gratitude for all that we have been given requires us to say that we will give back everything to God. It is wonderful to serve a God who is extravagantly generous toward us. I encourage you to take a moment today and ask, “What can I give back to the Lord for all that he has done for me?”
