Happiness

by | Sep 7, 2022 | Journey, Thankfulness

So, I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.” -Ecclesiastes 3:12-13Where there is no vision, the people perish” -Proverbs 29:18a KJV

In my mind, the day after Labor Day begins Fall. I know that is not what the calendar will point out, but my mind tells me it’s Fall. Fall may be my favorite season in nature. It is filled with many of the things that make me happy, such as trees splashed with colors of amber, gold, and ruby red, fun holidays, and most importantly, Football!

The wisdom from Solomon tells us to find joy in what God has created for us and what we have labored to provide. We need to spend time daily in gratitude meditations that focus on giving thanks for the positive aspects of life, including family, friends, church, and all the little things that make you happy. He tells us to enjoy this life we have been given for as long as we can.

As we enter this season of nature’s rest, we can prepare for all the memories that will be made in the next few months. Children are excited to collect candy from neighbors and friends at Halloween. There will be joyous Thanksgiving meals and family gatherings. Then we will celebrate the birth of Jesus, share gifts, and anticipate the visit from ole Saint Nick.

In my mind, Fall has begun. Enjoy this moment, and the many more God has prepared for us.

Journeying together,

John
